Week 11
Day 73
Lifestyle Praying
Read James 1:5-8

James 1:5-8

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

This is a ROCK SOLID PROMISE that you can always count on… “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James goes so far as to say that when praying this promise, there IS A CONDITION THAT WILL VOID IT. Let’s break it down…

Why do you think James 1:5 is true, and is there anything in the character of God that would support this truth?

‍Describe a “double-minded” person; what is their problem or fault?

‍Why does double-mindedness create a totally INEFFECTIVE prayer life?

Memory Verses

Primary Verse

… pray continually,

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Secondary Verse

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
