1 Thessalonians 4:9-12

Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

If you ascribe to “Cliché Christianity,” you’ll recognize the phrase “walk the talk.” Like most clichés, that phrase finds traction in the truth of Scripture. I love how Paul compliments and challenges the Thessalonians with his words. Write down the “life qualities” that Paul highlights are important for building a platform for sharing Christ with others, and tell why you think each is important:

How important do you think it is, that we “earn the right” to share Christ with those around us?

Memory Verses

Primary Verse

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

Revelation 12:11
Secondary Verse

… and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
